A freshman at Liceo Andrés Alcázar in the Tucapel commune, Bío Bío region, was attacked with a knife by three of his classmates. The assault took place inside the school premises, leaving the minor with multiple injuries.
According to reports from biobiochile.cl, the young student was attacked from behind by a group consisting of two males and one female. The incident left the victim with cuts to his face, neck, head, and rib area.
The victim's mother has gone public with the incident to alert the school community and other parents. She noted that this is not an isolated event, stating that there have been previous threats within the school.
Lack of security at the school
The mother expressed deep concern regarding the presence of dangerous objects within the school grounds, questioning how three students were able to carry a knife during the school day.
The complainant demanded the implementation of necessary security measures to prevent what she described as "acts of extreme violence." Her account aims to pressure authorities to take immediate preventive action.
Meanwhile, the mayor of Tucapel, Jaime Velasco, has not issued an official statement at this time. BioBioChile reached out to him to inquire about the measures that will be adopted to prevent further incidents of violence in local high schools, but received no response.
