Protesters arrested during a sit-in at New York Senate offices

New York police arrested approximately 100 anti-war protesters on Monday during a sit-in outside the offices of Senators Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand. The demonstrators occupied the area to demand an end to United States weapons sales to Israel.

The group targeted the offices of the two senators to protest ongoing arms transfers. Officers moved to arrest the protesters following the staged occupation.

Legislative Push to Block Bombs

The protest follows Senator Bernie Sanders' efforts to block more than $600 million worth of bombs bound for Israel’s military. Sanders is currently pushing to prevent the delivery of these munitions.

The demonstrators' demands focus on the cessation of US weapons sales. The occupation of the Senate offices serves as a direct response to the pending $600 million arms shipment.
