The Ministry of Housing and Urbanism (Minvu) is currently accepting applications for the 2026 Rental Subsidy, a program designed to help cover a portion of housing costs for up to eight years. According to reports from elmostrador.cl, the application window remains open as of Wednesday, May 6.
The program provides a total of 170 UF to be used flexibly throughout the duration of the benefit. The standard monthly contribution is 4.2 UF, which is approximately $160,000 Chilean pesos.
However, the coverage amount varies depending on the property's location. In the Metropolitan Region, as well as in communes in the north and the far south of the country, the subsidy can be applied to rentals valued at up to 13 UF, or roughly $495,300.
To avoid having an application rejected, applicants must meet three critical conditions. First, a minimum savings of 4 UF (about $152,400) must be deposited into a housing savings account no later than the last day of the month preceding the application.
Second, applicants must belong to the bottom 70% most vulnerable population according to the Social Household Registry (RSH). The news outlet warned that applicants must keep their information up to date, as the system cross-references data with the Internal Revenue Service (SII).
Finally, the household must demonstrate a monthly income between 7 and 25 UF, a range that fluctuates between approximately $266,000 and $950,000 pesos.
The registration process is entirely digital and can be completed via the arriendoenlinea.minvu.cl portal using the Clave Única login. Notably, persons with disabilities and senior citizens benefit from a simplified application process and receive additional points during the evaluation.
