The Sixth Oral Criminal Court of Santiago has sentenced a man to life imprisonment for the femicide of his former partner in the La Pintana district. The ruling concludes the legal proceedings regarding the crime committed in October 2021.
The defendant killed the victim with 13 stab wounds while they were at a residence located in Plaza de Armas. According to judicial records, the wounds were concentrated in the chest, back, and other areas of the body, leading to the woman's death.
Sentence and additional penalties
The sentence mandates life imprisonment without the possibility of applying alternative penalties under Law No. 18,216. This means the convicted man will be ineligible for parole or partial sentence fulfillment programs.
In addition to imprisonment, the court ordered a permanent and absolute ban on holding public office or exercising political rights. The ruling was based on the extreme gravity of the violence used during the stabbing attack.
The case, which has shocked the southern part of the capital, was resolved following an investigation by authorities into the attack carried out nearly three years ago at the victim's home.
