Former presidential candidate Jeannette Jara (PC) launched sharp criticism against the first month of President José Antonio Kast's administration, stating that the right-wing government has exhibited marked "ideological fanaticism."

In an interview with Radio Usach, the former Labor Minister questioned why the government has prioritized its own agenda over the public demands that brought it to power.

"This fanaticism is evident in the fact that their administration is not delivering on its promises to the people, but is instead focused on its own agenda," Jara stated.

The political leader also addressed the incidents of violence against Science Minister Ximena Lincolao, condemning the physical assaults that occurred during parliamentary inquiries.

However, she warned that the ruling coalition used the incident to divert attention from urgent issues such as inflation and the rising cost of living.

Criticism of the Omnibus Bill and migration policy

Jara denounced a pressure tactic within the omnibus bill that the Executive is set to present this Wednesday. According to the Communist Party member, the government is attempting to tie social aid to the approval of tax benefits for large corporations.

"They are bundling this into an omnibus bill because they are including a package of social aid in one part and then pressuring the opposition to accept corporate tax cuts for the highest earners in exchange," she argued.

The former minister described the proposal as a "very deceptive law" and demanded that discussions on corporate taxes be kept separate from social bonuses and support programs.

Regarding security and border control, the politician questioned the effectiveness of campaign promises regarding migration control after 32 days in office.

"It has been 32 days and not a single migrant has left. I understand they won't solve this in a month, but I also understand that they lied to the people," she stated.

Finally, Jara called on the opposition to act in a unified and non-destructive manner, taking advantage of the mistakes she believes the government has made during its early stages.
