Displacement crisis in Sudan due to civil war

Sudan is approaching the third anniversary of its devastating civil war, a conflict that has left a trail of destruction across the nation, according to a report by France 24.

The fighting has caused massive humanitarian suffering. The outlet reported that the war has already claimed tens of thousands of lives.

Displacement figures have reached staggering levels. Roughly 12 million people have been forced from their homes due to the ongoing violence.

Papal tour continues in Africa

While Sudan faces a humanitarian crisis, Pope Leo XIV is continuing his scheduled tour of the African continent.

The Pope spent his second day in Algeria, where he celebrated mass at the St. Augustine Basilica.

Following his time in Algeria, the papal itinerary shows he will head to Cameroon next.
