Israeli airstrikes killed at least 14 people in southern Lebanon, according to an official report from the Lebanese Ministry of Health.
The latest casualties include two minors and two women, while 37 others sustained injuries, the outlet latercera.com reported.
Since March 2, the death toll from the ongoing conflict has reached 2,509, with 7,755 people injured.
“The Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon have today, April 26, resulted in the death of 14 people, including two minors and two women, and 37 wounded, including three women,” the Ministry of Health’s Emergency Operations Center stated.
Forced evacuations and widespread damage
The strikes targeted areas south and north of the Litani River. Israeli forces issued orders for the forced evacuation of seven municipalities in the region.
In Kefar Tebnit, an airstrike hit a cafe. In Zautar el Charkiyé, Israeli aviation destroyed two Muslim places of worship.
Israeli drone strikes had also hit the area prior to the evacuation orders, resulting in several fatalities.
The forced movement of people caused hundreds to flee their homes. The exodus led to massive traffic congestion on roads connecting the affected areas to the city of Sidon.
Other southern Lebanese towns also faced bombardment. In Burj Qalauiyé, three rescuers sustained minor injuries during the strikes.
Additional attacks were reported in Safad el Batij, Frun, Deir Antar, Tulín, and Nabatiyé el Fauqa.
