The Los Angeles Lakers secured a 101-94 victory over the Houston Rockets on Tuesday, extending their first-round Western Conference playoff series lead to 2-0. LeBron James led the Lakers with 28 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists, despite the absence of star Luka Doncic and Austin Reases, according to Al Jazeera.

James, 41, stepped into a primary role due to the injuries to Doncic (hamstring) and Reaves (oblique), as noted by BioBioChile. The Lakers utilized a strong performance from Marcus Smart, who contributed 25 points, and Luke Kennard, who added 23 points.

Kevin Durant returned to the lineup for Houston after missing the first game with a right knee contusion, scoring 23 points. However, Al Jazeera reported that Durant struggled significantly in the second half, recording nine turnovers.

"Just as hard as we played in Game 1, we had to double that in Game 2," James said, according to Al Jazeera. He noted the team had to match the desperation of the Rockets.

Houston coach Ime Udoka criticized his team's efficiency, citing poor shooting from three-point range and a lack of second-chance points, per Al Jazeera. The series moves to Houston for Game 3 on Friday.

Wembanyama concussion impacts Spurs-Blazers clash

The Portland Trail Blazers evened their first-round series against the San Antonio Spurs with a 106-103 comeback win, fueled by a 14-point fourth-quarter deficit. The game shifted momentum after Spurs center Victor Wembanyama left the match in the second quarter due to a concussion, as reported by both Al Jazeera and BioBioChile.

BioBioChile stated Wembanyama suffered the injury after a heavy fall during an interaction with Portland's Jrue Holiday. The NBA concussion protocol removed the reigning Defensive Player of the Year from the remainder of the contest.

Scoot Henderson led Portland with a season-high 30 points, while Jrue Holiday contributed 16 points and nine assists, according to Al Jazeera. The Spurs' rally was led by Stephon Castle's 18 points and De’Aaron Fox's 17 points.

The series shifts to Portland for Game 3 on Friday, with Wembanyama's availability currently uncertain, per Al Jazeera.

In the Eastern Conference, the Philadelphia 76ers erased a 16-0 deficit to defeat the Boston Celtics 111-97. BioBioChile described the victory as a major surprise, as the 76ers equalized the series at 1-1.

VJ Edgecombe and Tyrese Maxey were the primary engines for Philadelphia, with Edgecombe recording 30 points and 10 rebounds and Maxey adding 29 points and nine assists, per BioBioChile. The 76ers shot 48.9% from three-point range to overcome a high-scoring performance from Boston's Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum, according to Al Jazeera.
