Arturo Vidal officially made his managerial debut this weekend at the Rodelindo Román club facilities. Taking advantage of a break caused by the postponement of his match against Coquimbo Unido, the Colo Colo midfielder ventured into the world of amateur football.

"The King" took charge of the senior squad in a friendly match against Club Serena, leading his side to a decisive 4-1 win.

Throughout the match, Vidal displayed a hands-on coaching style from the sidelines. The veteran midfielder was seen constantly barking instructions and correcting his players' positioning in real-time.

"He lost it, he lost it! He's coming up from behind... nice! Kid, stop messing around!" he could be heard shouting in a recording of one of the plays.

Criticism over discipline and fitness

During halftime, the two-time Copa América champion raised his voice to demand more discipline and commitment from the squad. The player took direct aim at the team's lack of punctuality and internal organization.

"Next time, let's try to arrive earlier so things are more organized. People are getting dressed, you guys show up and we have to make changes—it's frustrating," Vidal told his players.

His demands weren't limited to logistics; he also addressed the physical fitness of the squad. The San Joaquín native warned that some players' performances were suffering due to a lack of conditioning.

"Some of you need to watch your weight because you're looking heavy. We have to win the championship this year," the midfielder declared.

This debut on the sidelines of his formative club—where he first began his football journey—provides a clear signal regarding his professional future. Vidal is currently preparing for a career as a strategist in top-flight football.
