Former footballer Alberto Letelier has gone public with allegations that agent Fernando Felicevich wields decisive influence over Chilean National Team call-ups. The midfielder, who retired from professional football at the age of 21, claims the representative has a presence across all levels of the national game.
In an interview on the programCírculo Central, Letelier stated that the agent's role within the national team structure is an open secret. "Fernando Felicevich is inside the national team setup, and it's no longer a lie regarding the rosters. It's not just the senior team, but all the youth squads as well," the former player declared.
Allegations of a corrupt clique
Letelier, a product of the O'Higgins youth academy, linked this influence to his own premature retirement in 2025. The player maintains that maneuvers by his former agent sidelined him from the Chilean U-20 squad, which accelerated his departure from professional sports.
During the interview, the former midfielder also launched harsh criticisms at Pablo Calandria and Javier Furwasser, both associated with O’Higgins de Rancagua. The former player described the professionals as "terrible people" and labeled them as part of a "corrupt clique" within the footballing world.
Following stints with clubs such as Deportes Santa Cruz and Deportes Linares, Letelier is currently living in the United States. The athlete is studying abroad and is preparing for a comeback with Rice Lake FC, a club aiming to compete in the USL, the American second division.
